春賀◆新年 Spring Blessings ◆ New Year

這是一個中翻英的案子，包裝設計的理念蘊藏著新年元素，雖然這個案子的篇幅較短，但其中使用的成語不少，要能翻得恰到好處，有一些是具有挑戰性的。例如畫龍點睛這個成語，英文的表達其實近似於點石成金的最後一筆。若照字面意思來翻譯，也許就是「最後點上龍的眼睛」，但若這樣翻譯，就沒有翻出意思，也會讓人看不懂。

This project was a Chinese to English translation for the design concept behind the packaging of a product for New Years. Despite it being a short translation project, there was the use of a particular idiom "成語" in the sentence. Translating some of those idioms can be quite a handful to say the least. The idiom was "畫龍點睛" which translated to English would most closely resemble "the finishing touch/final touch", or something along those lines. Literally, it would mean putting the final dots on the dragon's eyes, which of course would make no sense in English.
